On May 13, "Fuoco alla polvere" ("Light the Fuse"), the eagerly awaited new album by I Beddi, a flagship group of the contemporary Sicilian pop/folk scene, is released in physical and digital format.

Ten tracks that unite tradition and contemporaneity, prose and poetry, storytelling and provocation: an overwhelming fusion of traditional sounds and modern arrangements, theatricality and social engagement, in a continuous interplay between lightness and commitment.

Produced for Mhodì Music Company, the album is part of the Comusì, Coesione Musicale Siciliana (Sicilian Musical Cohesion) project, created to promote Sicily's sonic and cultural identity through its most authentic expressions.

Introducing the album is the single "Sicilia mon amour", featuring Mario Incudine and Antonio Vasta, two prominent names in Italian ethno-popular music. The track is a poetic, nostalgic, and at times melancholic declaration of love for Sicily, a land of immense beauty, of intertwining languages and cultures.

The official music video, deliberately non-literal, is a surreal tale: a robbery inside the fictitious "Banca Sicilia Mon Amour" that represents Sicily, a land that is often treated as a bank to be robbed rather than a common good to be protected.

Giving voice and face to the social media campaign are the actors of the Nuova Compagnia Sipario di Turi e Federica Amore, a historic Sicilian theater company and longstanding pillar of popular theater. For the occasion, they performed a series of original social media spots: brief surreal and ironic theatrical sketches that reinterpret themes related to the world of banking services in a comedic key.

Among the most significant tracks

"A centru di munnu" ("At the Center of the World") is the official anthem of the Carnival of Acireale. The track celebrates with energy and choral spirit the identity of "Sicily's finest carnival", describing the event through the eyes of a grotesque allegorical float depicting King Carnival.

"Sugnu latru" ("I Am a Thief"), with Marco Corrao and Simona Sciacca, plays on the double meaning of "stealing someone's heart", offering a light and ironic tale of love and its unpredictable dynamics.

"Me unica amata" ("My Only Beloved") is a delicate Sicilian-style serenade. The track tells of a shy man who, beneath his beloved's balcony, becomes the voice of a romantic, poetic, and deeply human Sicily.

With "Fuoco alla Polvere", I Beddi deliver a mature, timely, and necessary album, one that makes you reflect and smile, that preserves memory and ignites new awareness.

The band, which has always maintained a rich live performance schedule, continues to bring their music to theaters and piazzas across Italy, with shows that draw large audiences.
