Despite everything, music does not stop. A reflection on the historic period we are living through, on art as the language of emotions, and on the beauty that will save the world.

Despite everything, music does not stop

That is where we left off, and that is where we must start again, once more.

We are living through an incredible historic period that, month after month, has changed the habits of our society, transformed the way we experience spaces and relate to people.

There have been moments of endless waiting to embrace someone -- a relative, a loved one.

There have been, and still are, anxious moments about a future suspended halfway between projects on hold and postponed dreams, between doubts and fears about the situation we are living through.

There have been many protests, especially from the world of music, theater, and cinema -- an area hit harder than most, and one that still has to grit its teeth. The very same teeth that form the carefree smile people often simplistically think of when they talk about the work of those who make the magic of art possible.

This magic is not effortless illusion; it is hard work like any other. If it looks easy, it is only because it comes from the intuition of the heart, from the training of emotions that naturally become a language coded by the soul of each of us. And that is how art makes us feel good.

Emotions cannot be stopped. They will keep working while everything stands still. They will keep helping us get through this moment -- through watching a film, a streaming show, through listening to a song that makes the wait less bitter for that embrace, that postponed trip, that project yet to be realized. They will give us the strength, sometimes the certainty, that everything will work out.

Nature is art, and art is beauty

As Prince Myshkin affirmed in Dostoevsky's "The Idiot":

Beauty will save the world, or at least make it a better place to live in.
