Biography
Nico Gulino is a Sicilian singer-songwriter who from a very young age has shown a deep passion for music, beginning to write his first songs. Growing up, he felt the need to accompany his lyrics with the guitar, collecting live performances throughout Sicily and refining a writing style attentive to the nuances of the human soul. In 2003 he took part in the San Marino Festival, an experience that the following year led him to perform at the Tim Tour and to become a national finalist at the VideoFestivalLive, sponsored by Radio Italia. In 2006 he was among the protagonists of "1° Maggio tutto l'anno". In 2012 he began working on his first album, "Meglio morir d'amore", released in 2017: nine tracks in which he tells stories through women's eyes, a fundamental source of inspiration for his songwriting. The album was born out of the collaboration with Denis Marino (Carmen Consoli, Luca Madonia, Gabriella Lucia Grasso) on arrangements and with Toni Carbone as artistic director. With the single "La musica non passa" he was among the winners of Musicultura 2017, receiving the title of "Best Singer-Songwriter Poet". In 2019 he signed with Mhodì Music Company, which released a new edition of his debut album: the music video for the single "A volte gli occhi" gathered wide acclaim and reinforced his identity as a pop auteur. In 2023 his second album, "Diverso e Uguale", was released, a work that explores the nuances of the human soul oscillating between auteur pop and jazz, dedicated to those who choose to live their lives authentically.
