Nico Gulino, Diverso e Uguale ("Different and Equal")
The new reflective and romantic album by Sicilian singer-songwriter Nico Gulino, featuring 10 original tracks between art pop and jazz. An album dedicated to all those who have the courage to live their lives differently and authentically.
"Diverso e Uguale" ("Different and Equal", Mhodì Music Company) is the new album by Sicilian singer-songwriter Nico Gulino, featuring ten original tracks between art pop and jazz.
Intimate and introspective music, an album that traverses different aspects of the human soul, from the restlessness of living authentically in contemporary society to the daily race against the relentless passage of time.
Ten tracks in the setlist, written by Gulino himself, arranged by Denis Marino and musically supported by top-tier musicians: Seby Burgio on piano, Alberto Fidone on double bass, and Peppe Tringali on drums, along with a string quartet conducted by Enzo Toscano.
The Music Videos
The album release was accompanied by music videos for the tracks:
"Ci siamo persi di vista" ("We Lost Sight of Each Other"), a beautiful video shot in a single take by Nino Giuffrida, and the title track "Diverso e Uguale", filmed with hidden cameras on the streets of Catania, where Nico Gulino spent a day as a homeless person.
This album collects ten pieces written over a broad span of time. From the oldest, "Difficile restar puliti" ("Hard to Stay Clean") and "Se la gente potesse" ("If People Could"), conceived many years ago but still very relevant today, to "Sapessi" ("If You Knew"), written during the lockdown.
"Diverso e Uguale" is dedicated to all those who have the courage to live their lives differently and authentically.
