Something In Our Way: Danilo Rea reads The Beatles and The Rolling Stones
Released in 2015, Something In Our Way is the album in which Danilo Rea moves through the Beatles and Rolling Stones repertoire in a jazz key. Sixteen pieces for solo piano, between homage and recomposition.
Danilo Rea's Something In Our Way was released on 9 October 2015. Sixteen solo-piano pieces conceived as jazz readings of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones repertoire.
Rea does not stop at homage: the structure of each original is taken apart, the harmony reinterpreted, the themes turned into material for extended improvisation. The album has become one of his most-streamed titles, partly thanks to the pop transparency of the source material.
The Anaglyphos reissue brings the album back to the digital catalog as part of the ongoing valorization of Rea's historic discography under the Anaglyphos imprint.
