Mareva Galanter and Robbie Williams, Une Tahitienne a Paris
Swing and tropical harmonies for Mareva Galanter's latest single featuring an exceptional guest: Robbie Williams. The evocative sounds of the Franco-Polynesian singer arrive in Italy for the first time.
For the first time in Italy, the evocative and lively sounds of Franco-Polynesian singer Mareva Galanter arrive through the track "Une Tahitienne a Paris", which tells the story of a trip to Paris and a chance encounter with an English gentleman from Stoke City: singer and showman Robbie Williams.
The single serves as a preview for a new album with soft, evocative, and elegant sounds -- in some ways surprising, somewhat nostalgic. They recall the romantic, slightly vintage atmosphere of the 1960s and 70s: harmonious and poetic lyrics, accents that color the entire album, giving it a character that floats between ancient European culture and Polynesian "color".
A blend of different sounds, suited to those who want to dream and escape from daily routine. Nuances that range from swing to Parisian pop, Tahitian percussion and ukuleles.
Mareva wants to highlight the strong bond between her two cultures, an indigenous tradition celebrated with distinctive elegance through 11 songs and three interludes of Polynesian sounds.
Mareva Galanter
Mareva Galanter makes her entrance on the Italian music scene after consolidating her international presence across various artistic fields: already Miss Tahiti (1998) and Miss France (1999), she has distinguished herself in cinema, appearing in films such as "Le Gaous", "The Pink Panther", and "3 Zeros".
Adding richness to a track with swing tones and ukulele accents, following her artistic collaboration with Primal Scream, Robbie Williams plays the entertaining and elegant part of an English traveler struggling with directions and the language.
A Bridge Between Europe and the Pacific
The pairing of Paris and Tahiti is not limited to celebrating a cultural exchange but serves as a bridge between Europe and the Pacific, bringing two geographically distant worlds closer than ever.
The album was recorded partly in Fenua (Tahiti), with local percussionists, instrumentalists, and choir, as well as artists such as the Tahitian singer-songwriter Eto, with whom Galanter recorded a second duet: "Les cocotiers en feu".
