The Light Side of the Moon: Rita Marcotulli solo with Sciola's sound stones
A solo-piano record recorded in DSD, with the visual and sonic presence of Pinuccio Sciola's sound stones. A record in which Marcotulli tells, in notes and words, ten deeply personal pieces.
Rita Marcotulli's The Light Side of the Moon is a solo-piano record. Originally recorded in 2006 and released in audiophile DSD format, its current edition was issued on 2 December 2017.
Alongside Marcotulli's piano, the record features the sound stones of Pinuccio Sciola, stone sculptures that, when struck or rubbed, produce singular vibrational frequencies. The dialogue between piano and stone shapes a meditative atmosphere that runs through the album.
