Biography
Talèh is a Sicilian folk trio formed in 1996 in Ragusa, driven by a passion for music and a love for their land. The group features Gianni Guastella (vocals, guitars), Vincent Migliorisi (vocals, strings) and Peppe Sarta (accordion). Their work consists of searching for and proposing ancient suggestions from the island's tradition to contemporary ears, reshaping popular material through their own musical experience: a music that rejects labels and borders and seeks Mediterranean resonances, moving across pop, folk and world. In 2009 they released the album "Ratapuntu". The title refers to the finishing stitch of a sewing machine and becomes a metaphor for the artistic tapestry of the record, a synthesis of a decade spent sharing popular tradition with people in the streets and squares of Sicily. The record is produced by Vincent Migliorisi, recorded and mixed by Vincenzo Cavalli at Sonoria Studio, and features ten tracks in Sicilian dialect. In 2015 the album "Mistera" follows, continuing the path of rereading the Sicilian popular tradition in a contemporary key. In 2025 Talèh return with the single "Cosa tinta", a Sicilian expression for something bad, flawed or of little value: an old-flavoured word brought back into song, true to the trio's research approach.
